The 1964 Official FAQ
version 1
Q: Why is this emulator named "1964"?
A:
1964 is meant to sound like "Nintendo64". Schibo was not born in 1964. If you add all the digits and divide by PI, you will get a meaningless number. There is no other significance to the name.
Q: How do I use my adaptoid with 1964?
A:
First, you will need at least version 0.4.8 of 1964. At the time of this this FAQ, 1964 v0.4.8 (or newer) has not yet been released publicly. Look for it soon if it is not already available..
Under the "Options" menu, select "Plugins..."
In the "Input Plugin" frame, click the "Configure" button
Under "Type", select "Joystick1"
Click "Setting"
Click "Set Default"
Click "Close"
Click "OK"
Click "OK"
Q: Can I save my games and resume later?
A:
Unfortunately, not yet. There is no support for this but look for this feature soon.
Q: Why is 1964 so far behind other emulators?
A:
This is a demoralizing question. 1964 is only 1.2 years old and we move at our own pace. If you want to play your games now, use another emulator. If your interest is in how an n64 emulator works, and like seeing an emulator improve on the internet, watch us :). 1964 was born on the internet and grew from there. The first version was nothing more than a simple debugger that decoded MIPS instructions.
Q: Why doesn't game "X" work?
A:
Another demoralizing question. 1964 compatibility will improve with time.
Q: Where is the sound?
A:
Q: What kind of system do I need?
A:
Ideal specs:
A Celeron 300A running at 450MHz gives about a 60fps framerate.
64 Megs RAM.
TNT2 based card.
Q: Graphics looked messed and it's really slow. Why?
A:
Assuming your processor is peppy, chances are you have a card that we don't. Therefore, consider the card as unsupported until we can get the card to test with. If you are using the OpenGL plugin for 1964, (1964ogl.dll) some cards unfortunately have miserable OpenGL support.
Q: Where is the source code for your plugins?
A:
Source code for plugins are not released.
Q: Can I be a beta tester?
A:
There's nothing "official" right now, although we already have people who offer their services. Our level of feedback seems to already be more than adequate. Thanks for asking :).
Q: Who are you?
A:
I am not a number..I am a free man!
Q: How do I make an emulator?
A:
All trademarks are the rights and property of their respective owners.
